GIPA Scholarship
Each year, GIPA awards up to five scholarships to graduating seniors to help with college expenses.
Who can apply:

Seniors who have been GIPA members every year of high school.
How it works:

Applications are handed out in German class.

Students write a German-language essay based on a prompt from the GIPA Scholarship Committee.

Essays are judged anonymously by German teachers from GW Carver Middle and Sunset Elementary.

Essay quality

A German teacher’s recommendation

DSD2 exam scores

Grade Point Average (GPA)

Volunteer work with GIPA and the National German Honor Society
Where our scholars go:
Past recipients have attended universities in Germany, the UK, and top U.S. schools like Brown, Florida State, Northeastern, MIT, and the University of Florida.
