Dear parents & fellow GIPA members,
Congratulations on a fantastic turnout at our 26th annual Oktoberfest.
While we are still compiling the numbers for our event, there is no doubt that a record crowd was in attendance that will allow us to once again raise significant and substantial funds for the program.
A sincere thanks to all of our student and parent volunteers who helped make our event a success. Thanks also to our list of Sponsors and donors - from products to silent auction items - you all made an incredibly generous difference for us.
Speaking of partners - we could not do this event if it were not for our amazing hosts at the German American Social Club. Now it is our turn to help them out and pay them back for their kindness and support.
The GASC is hosting their 60th annual Oktoberfest festival this weekend and next weekend. This is the longest continuous running Oktoberfest in the U.S. They need our help with volunteers to fill slots at various stations for their 3 day events each weekend.
Please click on the links below to sign up for the various slots available. The 2 weekends available (week 1 October 13-15 and week 2 October 20-22) are listed separately and have the various tasks and time slots listed. You will be sent reminders to let you know of your commitment for this fun event.

GIPA Scholarship Winners
On Friday, June 2, 2017, GIPA president Ted Ballard awarded GIPA scholarships to three deserving high school seniors in the German International Studies (IS) and International Education (IE) programs at Coral Reef High School. The first place ($1000) scholarship was awarded to IS student Caterina Zientek. The second ($750) and third ($500) place scholarships were awarded to IE students Antonio Huby and L'Amat Rosales, respectively. This is the fifth year that GIPA has awarded scholarships to Reef students. GIPA would like to extend a special “Vielen Dank!” to Kristina Bujakiewicz, who volunteered to be the scholarship coordinator this year, as well as to the many parents who served as judges and essay evaluators. Congratulations, Caterina, Antonio and L’Amat!
