Oktoberfest was held Saturday October 8, 2011 from 12-7 PM at the German American Social Club 11919 SW 56th St. Miami, FL. 33175.
Despite the rain Oktoberfest was a great success this year! Organizer Susan Schuler with Daniela George, Martina Kornmayer and Katrin Mehler worked countless hours with a large group of volunteers to put together the best Oktoberfest ever. A huge crowd gathered for fun, games and delicious German food and drinks.
GIPA thanks everyone who participated in making the event such a great success. We thank our sponsors, the parents and the GASC. Our special thanks to the GASC team Elke and Maria Luisa who were present the whole day to support the event and help us be successful.
Our initial goal was to raise $20,000, we made approximately $11,000, which is substantially less than last year. This is critical funding to enable our mission of supporting the German international language programs at Sunset Elementary, G.W. Carver Middle and Coral Reef Senior High schools.
It took many people to make this such an enormous success and GIPA wants to thank our volunteers, our sponsors, and our families that despite the incredible rain walked the extra mile to support GIPA!
Rain or Shine we always celebrate the Oktoberfest. Thank you, it would not have been possible without you!
Please remember to support vendors who supported Oktoberfest
