The Seventh Annual GIPA Teacher Appreciation Evening was held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Bulla Gastrobar in downtown Coral Gables.
This annual event is an opportunity for our GIPA Board members to express their appreciation to the German teachers from our four German program schools for all of the things they do each and every day throughout the school year — from the mundane to the mind-blowing — to make sure our children are receiving an outstanding German language education.
GIPA Board members were joined by Ms. Nicolette Gahleitner, German Language Advisor for the southeast, and Ms. Ilona Friedman, head of Public Relations and Cultural Affairs for the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. In a brief address, GIPA President Milli Metzker reinforced how critical our German teachers are to the ongoing success of our language program.
Many thanks to Yvonne Visser-Guerrero and Sarah Wrede for helping to organize this year’s event. And please be sure tell your child’s German teacher “Vielen Dank!” for all of her amazing work the next time you speak to her!
