On Friday, September 6th, Vice Consul Mr. Axel Zeissig of the German Consulate General Miami, together with GIPA President Milli Metzker, awarded Deutsches-Sprachdiplom (DSD) I Certificates to seven Coral Reef Senior High School students.
The DSD I exam, which these Coral Reef students took last school year under the administration of Germany’s Language Advisor for the Southeast, Ms. Nicolette Gahleitner, demonstrates their knowledge of both written and spoken German and is the first of two DSD exams that GIPA students may take to qualify to study at a German-speaking university. The performance of GIPA students at GW Carver Middle and Coral Reef Senior High on the DSD exams has a direct impact on the financial support that GIPA receives from the German government, so we are very pleased to report that this is another success story for the program.
Congratulations to our students! We would also like to congratulate all of the teachers, parents and friends who supported the students along the way and made this day possible. All of the efforts paid off.
