by Anna Q – Giegeling, Public Relations Chair of the Coral Reef National German Honor Society

On Thursday, September 20, 2018, two tenth grade Coral Reef Senior High School students, Rebecca Rodriguez and Anam Majid, received their Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD) I diplomas recognizing their success on the first of the two DSD language exams.

The ceremony for the recipients was held during lunch in the German classroom.  Vice Consul Mr. Axel Zeissig from the German Consulate General of Miami came to celebrate their success, along with Coral Reef’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator Ms. Wise, German teachers Dr. Valdes and Ms. Klose, GIPA Coral Reef VP Stephan Eberhagen, GIPA Board member Michaele Garcia, as well as the whole German National Honor Society board along with other German students.

Vice Consul Zeissig gave a brief overview of the cultural department at the German Consulate and then proceeded to award the certificates to the students. After the ceremony concluded, the attendees enjoyed some German treats and refreshments provided by GIPA.

Again, congratulations Rebecca and Anam on all your hard work.
