On December 15th, 8th grade students from Carver participated in the 4th annual field trip to Coral Reef High School. Ms. Moghani and a host of chaperones escorted more than 50 IS & IE German students on a field trip to Miami’s Mega Magnet High School.

The students were given a tour of the school by IB Lead Teacher, Kelli Wise. Ms. Wise also gave a presentation and answered questions that the students had about the programs and activities and student life at Reef. After a visit to a German class room, the students were treated to an authentic German style lunch and given souvenir Coral Reef t-shirts.

Students in the German IS program at Carver enjoy an incredible advantage when submitting their magnet applications for high school. If the meet the normal academic requirements for entry, the German IS students automatically are accepted into the Reef IB program – one of the most decorated and accomplished High School curricula available in the country. Reef represents the culmination of a German education that for many begins in 1st grade and allows students the opportunity to complete their experience with a German diploma. We look forward to seeing our next great class of 8th grade students advance to Coral Reef.
