Ted is currently serving in his sixth year as president of GIPA. Prior to becoming president in March of 2013, Ted was a co-treasurer for the organization, a post he held until May of 2015. A 1992 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia, he majored in Government before moving directly into the workforce. A veteran of 25 years in the sports television industry, Ted first gained experience working his way up as an intern for both the Washington Redskins and HBO Sports in the early ‘90s. After spending six-and-a-half years in Atlanta working for Turner Sports, Ted joined the Miami HEAT as a television director in 1998. Now in his 20th season with the team, Ted has been the Executive Director of Broadcasting since 2004. Ted and his wife of 24 years, Heather Mann, both grew up in Syracuse, NY and now live in Coral Gables with their two children, John & Helen. Both children are in high school and entered the IS German program as first graders at Sunset. In addition to his work with GIPA, Ted has also volunteered in the “school to work” mentor program sponsored by Big Brothers and works closely with the Dranoff 2 Piano Foundation in the annual production of Piano Slam.
