Job Description: Membership
The German program is an academically rigorous program that employs highly trained and qualified German language teachers. GIPA is asked by the Miami-Dade County Public Schools District to supplement a substantial portion of the German teachers’ salaries. This means that, in order to sustain the language program, GIPA must ask enrolled families to contribute financially at the level most comfortable for them. Membership fees represent the second largest source of revenue in GIPA’s annual budget and are therefore essential for the successful financing of the German language program.
GIPA’s Membership Coordinator is responsible for the collection of all membership fees for each child who is enrolled in the German program at Henry S. West Laboratory, Sunset Elementary, G.W. Carver Middle, and Coral Reef Senior High Schools. The membership coordinator uses a database to keep track of all membership information during the school year and reaches out to families several times a year during membership campaigns. The membership coordinator works in close cooperation with the VPs from each of the four schools to achieve GIPA’s objective of 100% membership participation among families in the German program.
