Dagmar was born in Germany. She then lived in La Habana, Cuba, going back to Germany at the age of 17. She has lived in Miami for the past 12 years and is currently serving her third year as GIPA Co-Treasurer.
Dagmar graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of Science – Business Management, with a focus on Accounting & Finance from the Technical University Zittau, in Germany and Postgraduate Studies, with a major in Marketing from the EF ‘Dr. Buhmann’. She worked in Germany for the North Europe HDQ of Mango (MNG), in Düsseldorf. In 2006, she moved with her family from Germany to Miami, and after six years of maternity leave she started working in the Global Accounting Department at Burger King’s corporate headquarters, and later in the Finance Department at Bacardí USA. Since April 2017, she has been working in the Accounting Department at Crystal Cruises, LLC.
Dagmar has two children in the German IS program: a six-grader daughter at GW Carver Middle School and a ninth-grader son at Coral Reef Senior High.
Job Description: Co-Treasurer
The Co-Treasurer assists GIPA’s Treasurer and works closely with other members of the Management Committee to safeguard the organization’s finances. In summary, the Co-Treasurer is responsible for:
- General financial oversight
- Controlling, fundraising and sales
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Financial reporting
- Banking, book keeping and record keeping
